Fellow Papua New Guineans! Kangaroos or Kumuls?

Image
Fellow Papua New Guineans, It is disheartening to witness the division and negativity surrounding the support for Australian Kangaroos compared to the support for our own national team, the PNG Kumuls. Instead of focusing our energy on arguing, making fun, or supporting other nations' teams, let us redirect our efforts towards uplifting our very own team and embracing the diversity and pride that comes with being Papua New Guineans. The PNG Kumuls represent not just a national team but a reflection of our unique culture, resilience, and love for the sport. They carry the hopes and dreams of our nation as they compete on the international stage. By standing together and supporting our team wholeheartedly, we have the power to inspire and unite our fellow countrymen, regardless of our varying backgrounds. Let us channel our enthusiasm towards celebrating the achievements of our own players, fostering a sense of unity, and fueling the growth of rugby league within Papua New Guinea. ...

Why Papua New Guineans continue to bow down and look up to Australians as superiors?

Image
Why Papua New Guineans continue to bow down and look up to Australians as superiors? The crowded at the Jackson International Airport were not cheering up as fans but primitives of the stone age, behaving as if they first time seeing white-skin Australians.  In the colonial Era and age, our forefathers always look up to Australians as superiors. And we just celebrated our 48th independence anniversary and yet still look up to Australians NRL Stars as superiors. Should we always bow down to Australians in everything doing the same as our primitives did in the past.   Our late father Sir. Michael Somare, once said to them, you see these women, they will give birth to lawyers, engineers, doctors, accountants, NRL Stars, etc.. to build this nation and be like you.  And fast forward, thousands of Papua New Guineans have fulfilled Somares vision and dreams. Even in Sports Arena, the PNG Kumuls Team is comprises of top NRL Stars.  PNG Kumuls can beat FIJI NR...

Former Prime Minister Paias Wingti Said The Facts Of PNG MPs Loving Money Than People  Paias Wingti, while being the Prime Minister for the second time in 1994, said it is not easy to run a government. _I care for the people and wanted to do many things. But making the right decision always threatened my survival as PM. I always had fear. The fear of losing a MP always haunted me. How can I satisfy everyone with the decisions I make? Losing a single MP and seeing media headlines gave me a headache that iam gone finished as a PM._   _The solution I could have done, was giving free money to MPs as a bargain chip to hold them so that I remain PM_ . Let us look at the Wingti scenario. Was Mr. Wingti ignorantly suffocating his conscience, the irony giving into MPs little redflags? No. As PM he was duty-bound to run a government. To lead the NEC. To address Parliament and be answerable to the people. Unfortunately, let us accept the fact, doing good costs your career. He...

FIDOW After arriving at the Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport, NRL super star Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow is still overwhelmed with the reception he received from rugby league obsessed fans that turned up in numbers to welcome the Australia PM’s XIII side yesterday. Fidow or best known as the “Hammer” was the crowd’s favourite when he stepped out of the terminal with many chanting and cheering the super star. Fidow told Sports Scene today after conducting a rugby league clinic at the National Football Stadium that; “The feeling is unreal”. “I cannot grasp the moment when I stepped out, it was like I was some kind of a rock star.” he said.  “It’s my first time here and it’s an eye-opener. “Just to see how the locals get so much out of our presence here, means a lot. They don’t have the luxury of seeing us day-in, day-out. “I’m so amazed by how the fans went to another level of appreciation when we arrived. I’m stunned at the reception. “It is a bit different from home,” he said. “...
